Fuorisalone: what is it, when does it take place, and how does it work?
The Fuorisalone encompasses all the events, exhibitions, and installations spread throughout Milan during Design Week, transforming the city into an open-air creative laboratory. Events are generally free , but often require registration . It is divided into five main districts ( Brera , 5 Vie , Tortona , Porta Venezia , and Isola ), each with its own program. One standout is Alcova , an independent platform that hosts innovative design projects in unusual spaces rich in historical value.
8. Motherhood, Jōmon
5Vie presents ceramist Noe Kuremoto's poetic installation, a love letter to Jōmon mothers: A Mother's Anthem . Through the artist's sculptural vases, inspired by ancient Japanese ritual vessels, she recounts the lights and shadows of motherhood. A celebration of the radical nature of the act of creation. "Clay remembers. Fire transforms. The vase endures. Art and parenthood are vehicles for conveying the infinite."
